I decided to start off the year with my New York/Broadway picture. I'm sketching it now on a piece of black construction paper, and I'm possibly going to use chalk so the colors stand out. The scene is of a city street with buildings and big billboards, and I wrote I ♥ NY in the corner. I'm going to try to draw actual signs for a few musicals I've seen on the billboards, including my all-time favorite Broadway musical, Wicked. This drawing is a little frustrating, because it's difficult to make the buildings look proportional and 3D. But I'm hoping it looks as realistic as possible.
