Play Sets

So as many know, this year's play is High School Musical. Mr. Lynch, the director of said play, asked Mrs. Phegley's art classes to help out by painting the sets. As simple as that may sound, it's a little stressful, because we wanted to get them just right so they look great for the performance. So we've spent the last 3 weeks or so painting backdrops for the musical. The first one we worked on was made to look like an actual school, so we used sponges and painted grayish bricks, and made big windows and doors with "East High School" over the top. Then we painted a white wall with a big red and a black stripe, and a giant mural of a Wildcat and "East High" over the top for a cafeteria. These two backgrounds were for the big stage. There are also two side stages, one is a locker room that was just white with the words "Go Wildcats" in red across the top, and the other is a yellow classroom with a big chalk board. After all that hard work, I think they turned out pretty good!
