First Assignment

Our first project is supposed to be a piece that reflects who we are. It can either be a drawing or a painting, using pencil, charcoal, oil pastels, acrylic or oil paints. I chose to do a drawing, mainly because I feel most comfortable drawing rather than painting. For my project, I took a picture of myself wearing sunglasses and then drew an upscale portrait with pencil. In the lenses of the glasses, I drew different symbols, pictures and quotes that basically describe me. This includes a tennis racket and ball, an iPod, a camera, the comedy and tragedy faces for drama, music notes and lyrics, a paint pallet and brush, etc. I'm planning on outlining the frame of the sunglasses with ripped pieces of different colored construction paper to make it somewhat of a mixed media project. I will have a picture of the finished product on here soon!
